Biography

Ms. Barber has cemented herself as a leading authority in family law, having excelled as an attorney at Barber Tubis Law, P.C., since 2023 following 20 years with Mattice Law Offices. In her present position, she manages all aspects of divorce and litigation and acts as a neutral, experienced in mediation arbitration. She represents clients in both short-term and long-term matters, consistently demonstrating her expertise in complex family law issues.

A significant milestone in Ms. Barber’s career occurred during her inaugural year with Barber Tubis Law, P.C., when the firm was recognized as the Reader’s Choice Law Firm of the Year by a local newspaper. The accolade underscored the firm’s immediate impact within the community and highlighted her leadership.

Prior to her current post, Ms. Barber accumulated over two decades of experience in family law, building a reputation for stellar service and dedication to her clients. Her expertise has been acknowledged through several distinctions, including being featured in the Daily Republic for the Annual Publication of Solano County Women in 2024 and 2025. Ms. Barber was likewise celebrated among the National Trial Lawyers’ Matrimonial and Family Law Top 30.

Ms. Barber is actively involved in professional organizations that reflect her commitment to advancing family law practice. She is a member of the California Family Law Section and the Association of Certified Family Law Specialists. Additionally, she contributes to the Solano County Bar Association Family Law Committee as a board member. Furthermore, Ms. Barber is affiliated with Solano Foster Connection, an organization that offers education and support for local foster families.

Ms. Barber’s formal education laid a strong foundation for her legal career, having initially earned a Bachelor of Arts in humanities with a major concentration in history and a minor concentration in English from Washington State University in 1997. She ultimately graduated with a Juris Doctor from McGeorge School of Law at the University of the Pacific in Sacramento, California, in 2001 where she served on the editorial board of Transnational Lawyer law review. These academic achievements provided her with critical thinking skills and a broad perspective essential for navigating complex legal matters. She has been admitted to practice by The State Bar of California since December 2001. In 2008, Ms. Barber obtained her certification as a family law specialist from the California Bar Board of Legal Specialization, further distinguishing her as an expert in her field.

Throughout her career, Ms. Barber has credited her success to mentorship, having benefited from guidance early on and now encouraging others to seek similar support. She has intentionally focused her practice within small boutique firms rather than large law offices, prioritizing work-life balance and community engagement over long hours typical of larger firms.

Beyond her legal practice, Ms. Barber is deeply engaged with civic organizations and community initiatives. She has a long history of serving on local boards such as Cub Scouts, Choir Booster Board, and Parent Teacher Organization, and church Deacon board prior to her current role with Solano Foster Connection. Each year, she organizes a Thanksgiving food drive that provides meals to families throughout Solano County. Ms. Barber is also dedicated to education within her profession, frequently sharing her knowledge as a speaker and presenter at family law seminars for paralegals, at events hosted by the National Business Institute, and through presentations for the Solano County Bar Association.

Looking toward the future, Ms. Barber remains committed to helping individuals navigate the family law system with compassion and expertise. She continues to expand her practice into areas of representing children, neutral services, and alternative dispute resolution while continuing to mentor younger students and attorneys entering the field. Currently engaged in short-term mentorships with law students and clerks, she is dedicated to fostering growth within the next generation of legal professionals.
